The Chinatown street light-up for Chinese New Year will be turned off for four days as part of stepped-up measures to manage crowds over the festive period. Some stall owners said the new measures will have a major impact on their business. The crowd control measures kicked in after huge crowds were seen last weekend at Temple and Pagoda streets, where safe distancing ambassadors struggled to control the situation. Visitors are encouraged to visit during weekdays. They can also visit the Chinatown Festivals website for a 360-degree virtual tour.
